Website design is a field I’ve worked in since very early in the development of the Web. I hand coded my first site for a local business back in 1998. Since then, I’ve done many other sites, often as the lead of a larger team of programmers, artists, and writers.
Today I’ve come full circle, producing websites for businesses at smaller scales, by creating customized WordPress sites.
By building on the respected and widely-used platform of WordPress, I can design and implement feature-rich websites with less time and effort, which means a lower cost to the client. And not only are these sites more economical to create, they are designed for ease of maintenance. Much of the routine work can be done by the client with a minimal amount of training that I can also provide.
The two sample sites below were done with similar methodologies: I work with the client to choose a commercially coded stock “theme”. I then customize those themes, altering colors, page layout, menu design, and by create brand-specific artwork and original photography. I set up web hosting for these sites, install WordPress, install the custom theme, and set up the initial site pages, menus, and some of the initial content. The clients then add more content, either in the form of updates such as blog posts, or more pages, links, and photos.
In addition to the samples below, this website (Photographic Solutions) is built with the same methods, with my design, writing, and content. As I’m constantly updating my own site, I stay current so I’m able to help my clients to also stay current.
